Killing Gunner/Observers
« on: August 04, 2006, 08:59:01 PM »
In the last few weeks, I've had 2 things happen that I've not observed in AH before.

The first was a few weeks back when the Donut map was up. As I attacked a buff formation, I got 2 simultaneous kills. I presume one was a gunner, as there were no other enemies visible, and I'd not fired a shot at anyone else.

The second occured last night. I was riding in Jaxxo's tardfoon as an observer when we were shotdown by Frylock. In the buffer, I see the Frylock shot you down/You have been killed message.

Now, while I've ridden as and with an observer on numerous occasions in the past, I don't recall ever being killed as an observer, or getting a kill on an observer. In fact, on a few occasions, I've landed kills (both for proxies as an observer, and kills as a gunner). Is this something that's been changed, or is this a bug?

I think itīs not new, I have killed an observer about 6 months ago. But as it seems to be a very rare incident , getting kills for buffgunners seems to be more like a "bug" than a regular feature.

No bug.  You were "head shot".

So, since it doesn't happen consistently when riding as an observer, which one is the bug?

Are you saying you can kill an observer?  Does he add to your kill total?

Yes. Frylock has one kill on me, with my death being recorded as a gunner. Jaxxo, on the other hand, is showing no deaths to Frylock (I was in Jaxxo's Typhoon when this happened). Not exactly sure what's up.

Come to think of it, a few weeks back I shot a silkmonkey and got a kill on it. HTC, you guys care to shed some light on the subjet?

Wildcard, I don't want to say too much, but ask Jaxxo about pulling trains. ;)
