Does dropping rox or eggs onto the face of the shore battery cause more damage then dropping on top or to the rear?  Or is all damage the same

rox?

Only rocks I drop are the ones in the toilet when I take a dump

Anyways I dont know about the damage, I thought it was the same no matter what part of the SB is hit

Damaged is based on total tonnage, and not on where you hit a fixed ground target.

Damage to SB occurs on the 'dirt mound foundation' of the SB itself?  i was under the impression only damage to the concrete portion did any damage...???

Well i'd imagine that SB's would take blast damage, even from a hit on the dirt, just as FH's take blast damage when bombs are dropped in between

SBs have a big "house" and in the front a niche with the actual gun around it. Like a bunker. The question was whether you had to hit the gun (which is actually tucked away in there) or if you could just pound the entire house (the bunker around the gun).

Right Krusty...My question is, does a 1000 pound bomb dropped on the face of the gun (the opening) cause more damage, then the same 1000lb bomb hitting the top or rear side of the gun (all concrete without opening)

Ok hitting the brown mound won't do much.  The best you'll get from that is some blast damage if bombs go in close enough. Drop on the SB 4.5K is needed to kill it.

However, some drops look as though you have missed but be assured if your confident that the ords were on target they more than likely were.  Don't know if it's a glitch or that the actually "HIT" register is actualy the base of the SB where connected to brown mound but you often see crators kinda inside the hill.

That's not the question lynx. He's talking about hitting the face of the moving gun itself vs. hitting the white bunker around the gun.

I don't know the answer, but I would like to know if somebody does.

I would imagine it's not coded like that.  It's the bunker or nothing hence 4.5 k needed to kill them.

This might not be a "tip" but maybe for some...

A few weeks ago I saw my base being raided with GV's aswell as the town.  Saw that we had a shore battery... hmmm...

Upped in the shore battery and saw that I could range it right at the GV's either in town or heading towards it.

Put two and two together and well... yes, it was alot of fun ;)

(Almost had a mythological experience to it.... Poseidon striking down small ants scrambling on the ground with his Trident.)

I've done that before. It's great fun. Among all the maps there is only a few bases that can do that. When everything comes together just right, you can pick guys off really easy.

The northern little island (the one other than 9/10) on the Baltic has an airfield that can shell the port across the water with its shore battery.
