Hmmm... this could be a sound driver issue... or a resource issue.

Can you post a dxdiag, please?

Ok I work at a computer simce corp. and I dont get much time to ask any of the guy's around here for help but I did hapen to see a programer on his way to his work desck and asked him about my prob. He askhow much RAM I had on my PC I tould him I think 256 RAM he said that would more than likley be my problem now how dose RAM keep you video from jumping. Oh and I can tell ya I run a Nvidia 6100 right now. I get the rest of the stuff to you later. But How dose RAM decide how you computer works I thought it was just for storeing stuff.???????

In very simple words: RAM is the place yur CPU places things that it is currently needing for fast access.

Think of it like cooking. You put the tools and pots and all the stuff out of the drawers and shelves next to your oven and things go a LOT faster then if you have to open the drawer each time you need a knive. Little RAM means the space next to the oven is limited and you can only have a few tools out of the drawer at the same time

Edit: Schutt just came in and told me that men dont get comparisons where cooking is concerned. Dont need much "cooking RAM" to open a tin of Ravioli :D.
He put it this way:

Think of working on a project while sitting on your desk. The papers (data) you need is stored in an archive downstairs. Now RAM is the space you got on your desk. When starting your work, you go downstairs and pick up as many stacks of papers as your RAM allows you, set them on your desk and start working. Now you can very easily imagine - with little RAM, you cant put ALL the paper stacks you need on your desk at once. That means while working youll have to go downstairs and swap the stacks (load new data). Work will progress considerably slower that way.

PS: do you have 256 MB *system* RAM or VidMem (GC have extra RAM)? I wouldnt think AH would even load with 256 MB sysRAM. Anyway, dxdiag will show that.

So the more RAM you have the faster your CPU will run right. Im just learning about CP's so forgive me for not beeing up to speed. been playing X-Box too long LOL. Is there any drivers for my video card that I could down load to help it out a little and is a Nvidia 6100 fast enough to handle AH.?

The more RAM you have the less the CPU has to fetch from the hard drive which is many factors slower than RAM.

Also note, I sent you an email about your game settings.  The 6100 is a very low end video card.  It needs all the help it can get.

NOTE: If you find a stick of RAM from an old computer. DON'T USE IT! I tried that from an old computer our family had. Just didn't know a HARDWARE virus killed the comp, so I stuck the RAM into my system and in 3 hours time I got the rip-stinking virus on my comp. For the next 10 days I would be trying to erase the virus:furious .

RAM, from a computer, will not contain anything once power is removed from it.  It would have been impossible to get a virus from a stick of RAM.

Even when power is still applied, RAM requires a refresh.  Without that refresh (driven by the CPU), the RAM will start losing what it had contained within seconds.
