Here in GA, in that kinda situation and if the local SD/PD wasn't doing anything, I'd be looking for a supervisor's number with the GBI.

Isn't it federal law that a convicted felon cannot possess a firearm?

I've known a couple of guys who were on parole for drug charges, and they couldn't even carry a pocket knife. Any weapon on them at all and they went back to the grey bar motel.

I have a bad experiance with trying to get Parole Officers to enforce the law on a parolee in Rains County roght next to you. Violation after violation ,including giving alcohol to minors. When I complained I was treated like the criminal.

As far as the Tx Rangers go, I think they have been looking into things pretty seriously for a few years now.
One small town in the county has had their entire P.D. completely taken over by the Rangers twice now in the last few years due to corruption/mishandling , etc. Their P.D. has to operate through the county sherrif`s office.

Another update.

The friend of mine who owns the property where they were living and a couple of us neighbors have had just about enough of the B.S. A couple of not so delicate discussions later and the parolee has moved most of his belongings and a lot of his wife`s from the resident. About an hour before sunset yesterday he was told that he had until dark to get anything else that he wanted out. He hasn`t shown as of yet. He was also explained that if caught back in the area after that point in time it would be highly frowned upon. Also one of the handguns that he had been carrying around has been purchased from him and sent out of county to be ran and checked out. He ran out of drug money. :)Pretty sure it is stolen. If you get the picture, this cat is not of the Einstein frame of mind.
The wife brought in a crew yesterday afternoon and moved what was left of her belongings also.
We`re not , by any means, convinced that he will not come back for retaliation and /or more theft. Like I said, he`s not too bright, plus he is strung out to the max. We`re keeping as close of an eye on things as possible, especialy between midnight and sunrise which seems to be his favorite shopping time.
I was pretty concerned for the lady who lives next door to them, after the threats were made, since her husband drives a truck and is gone a lot . Myself and my wife went to talk to her. She said that it is the first time since they have lived there that she has ever been concerned. They have lived there around 15 years. She said she hasn`t been sleeping at night. A little spooked. I wanted to reassure her and told her that no matter what time of the day or night it was, if she heard or seen anything she didn`t like to call myself and my neighbor and we would be there in less than five minutes. She is in her sixties and is a small built lady. She got a little grin on her face and told me she wanted to show me something. She came back down the haul lugging a pump 12 ga. riot gun her brother had brought to her.

She asked what I thought would be the best thing to do if she heard or saw him prowling around her property again. I told her if he was outside or breaking into the garage or outbuildings again to stay inside, call me, then 911. ( I can beat response time normaly by thirty minutes. I`m less than a minute away) I also told her if a window or door was breeched...........it was open season.
Even though we are working pretty hard to eliminate him from our community, if something is not done he will just be someone else`s worry and i know he is getting pretty
out there.

I lived in Point for about 10 years I moved two years ago. One thing about the Tawakoni area. Most of the people are fantastic, but the bad ones are just that. BAD.

Yea, I can`t argue that. There are some realy good folks around and a few bad ones, but I think that applies for just about everywhere.
I picked up a guy and his wife and bike with my bike trailer from Cali who had broke down a couple of years back and took them to Point. They had family there. Can`t remember the their names offhand.
We used to live at Fork quite a few years back. We both worked in Greenville at the time . My wife had the honor of being the very first one to run the stop sign and get pulled over the day they changed from caution light to stop sign on Hwy 69 in Point.

That is so funny she certainly wasn't the last. I still go through Point often. Barney Fife still works that light hard.

It sounds like the dude is a dirtbag who needs chemical neutering, but it doesn't sound as if he's been CAUGHT doing anything to get rolled-up.

Parole officers cant, don't and wont roll up a state boy because of rumor or alleged suspicious activity. If the po-po nabs dude with a firearm, no question he'll be charged with felon in possession of a firearm and summarily rolled-up.

Otherwise it takes the PO catching him in violation and most PO's couldn't catch their own crap if it fell up... they are just too many cases for them.

If you see him trying to get away with poop, call the cops.. mention hes on parole.. if they catch him screwing up, he's a gonner. If he's living in the same area as where he was 1st arrested, you might try to find the police detective(s) that worked the case. I promise you they'll care, there's not much cops truely care about.. but they HATE putting an A-hole away only to have him catch an eraly release and do more harm. It'd be safe to say at least 1 detective somewhere actually still hates this guy and would do back flips to lock him up, again.

The parole officer knows about the guns. He admitted to carrying one to her.
I have no problem with giving the man`s guns back to him or the right for him to have one..........AFTER he serves his time which includes parole.
I also do not expect law enforcement in any area to be personal or public babysitters or protectors. That`s not any officers job and is impossible to do.
I do, however, expect them to do the job they were hired for or in the case of the sherrif, elected to. They have not done this and refuse to do so.
Once again...you rock the boat in this county...you pay the price. Believe me.

A couple of points here. The parole officer should never have been placed over this parolee to begin with. He is too violent for any female to be put in such danger. On the other hand ...she should not have accepted the position of being over him if she couldn`t do her job.

As a little update. Things have been pretty interesting around here in the last couple of days to say the least.

The friend of mine who owns the property remembered he had an old time friend who is a Texas Constable. There are four Constables in the county. One is MIA.

Usualy the Constables serve papers/warrant service, etc.
This one has been a Texas law officer for forty years. He knows his stuff. After he came down and talked to us it became
real clear that his opinion of the SO and mine pretty well match.

He knows the ins and outs and ways to avoid long, drawn out, go nowhere procedures that will be lost in the shuffle, so to speak.
He drew up papers that had to be served by the property owner and witnessed to the tune of Criminal Trespass, etc. I went along as a witness when the papers were served.
There is a three day waiting period and today is THE day.

I`ve been sort of tied up the last couple of days and nights.

I also went to the property to get a meter number. While I was there I walked by a wooden wishing well. In the wishing well I noticed a new car stereo that had been placed in it. The Constable has it now.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out one way or the other.
