As far as I'm concerned, there's a big difference between the "Imperialist Japanese" that fought the war against the Allies, and the japanese that were not Imperialists.
What I find interesting is the article quotes a Japanese stating ""I hope people are more educated now,I'm hoping it doesn't create any backlash on our grandchildren who are still in elementary school."
But the way I understand it was the Japanese baby boom generation were never told of the Imperialist Japanese atrocities when they were in school after the war.
