Radar goes from 500ft AGL to max altitude. AFAIK it does not have a ceiling.

But the game has one. Above 50 000 feet, fuel consumption gets all whacked up (in other words you dont run out of fuel up there). The problem is, the only plane that *could* get up there is the ME 163. All other planes have a ceiling above which the air is too thin to procuce enough lift. In the Main Arena the 163 will run out of fuel before being up there.

You can try the 50K offline or maybe in TA. Im not sure if you show on radar when above 50K.

i got to 51.somethingK in the TA several months ago in a spit5 :D

that might have been when it still had better power, cant remember, but it took me about an hour, fly level, build up 300mph, yank uyp and gain 200 ft at a time :lol

Got a 163 up to 45k offline one day while just kidding around. Then my grandson casually strolled over to my keyboard and hit enter three times. That kid's got a twisted sense of humor.

I wouldn't be so sure about saying no. I believe radar did have a maximum altitude, but I'm not sure about now.

Maybe it was a bug or maybe it was by design, but I do remember that if you coaxed a plane up to XX,000' (I want to say 32,000', but I just can't remember clearly) no bar or dot would appear on radar, but fields and strats would blink.

It would be fun if HTC would answer a few of these kinds of questions once in a while. Unlock the 'mysteries' of Aces High...
