Reload point = repair point??
« on: September 13, 2006, 02:37:09 PM »
Hi,

couldnt the reload point also be a repair point for "smal damages", like a oil leak, damaged radiator, missing aleron, damages gun etc??

Broken wing, Fuselage, pilot wounded etc could stay unreperable.

I dont know if this would help in the MA, but sometimes if all hangers are down i land my plane and would like if this damages could get repaired, maybe with a longer time than reloading, lets say 1min.
Specialy for a GV war this would be very usefull(how i hate the damaged cannon lol )

Greetings,

Knegel

Not really practical, even a small repair can be very time consuming.  You would have to be on the repair pad so long that you would be a sitting duck.

I donīt think an oil leak is "small damage". You would have to change engines most of the times, itīs not that easy to repair a shot-up engine while your plane is being reloaded. An reinstalling a new tank gun is a major effort at a workshop too...

Man, refueling and rearming also isnt done in 30sec in real life!!

You know, this is a game??

Why a tank get repaired just by picking supply, while returning to the reload point on the base dont do such things??

Hm, so because were a bit gamey, you want this to be even more gamey by a huge amount?

Btw, you could refuel & reload a plane while sitting near the runway with the pilot still in cocpit in real life. Repairs of such scale always required to get a new plane. Both is  simulated in this game. So it is "in scale" right now, when refueling takes you 30 seconds and getting a new plane even less :)

HTC has openly said "no" to this.

Currently all you have to do to fix your tank is to hit the Load Supplies button. As long as there someone nice enough around to drop vehicle supplies to load, anyway.

Yes, i know, thats why i dont understand why my GV cant get repaired on a reload point.

Maybe for planes its unpracticable, ok, but for GVs it would be nice.

This also could be a option determined by the host. In the smal H2H GV-War maps, a damaged cannon is most common, supply not. Imho it would add to the game, but anyway, its only a wish and if HTC already did say no, its ok.
