Is it just me but are all gun shops lacking in customer service. Bought some parts for my new project glock and called today to see if they were in. The nice man on the other side said no and i asked if they have a idea on time. After a long moan he said that they dont have any record for my order. I think it was because when i walked into the store they were so quick with me and i had just a couple of questions. Their bad, i have money and would need their services but not any more. I will send of my guns to smiths that i trust and are good people. I am just sad because this one store is 2 miles from my work and they do good work on glocks. Fat over aged cops are the owners.. I have been at the range with these guys and they cant shoot but talk a big game.

Anyone have 40 brass so i dont need to call these guys up..

Gun stores are weird. When you're the new guy at a shop, it seems like the owners and long time customers are suspicious of you and not very easy to get along with.

Was this the first time you went to that store? If so, I wuld try again if you believe that they are good with glocks (and that is what you need)

I moved last year and had to start over with the gun shop relationship at a new store. I get along fine with the hang-out crowd in there now, but I think I liked the selection and conversation at the old store better.

They are about like small computer store owners. Hey, I like (guns/computers) wouldn't it be great to...

Unfortunately, they often lack basic social skills and business skills. I've had two computer shop guys that were one stop -- never again experiences when they make you feel like an ****** the first question out of your mouth. As someone who's only "new" computer was bought in 1988, I was hardly asking about where to find the "any" key. Either that our they are just too busy to acknowledge your presence.

Gun dealers are not quite as bad, in my experience, but their prices often lack any basis in reality and their "gun knowledge" and openly expressed worldviews can lead to a lot of mental notes to just keep your mouth shut and nod.

Did find a good gunshop in the area recently though. It has 1937/1940 Indian .303, clean in the original string-tied paper packets. Bought 1000 rounds and I'm going to try it out this weekend if I can. If it's good, then time for another 1000 or so ($110/1000)

A guy I used to shoot with works in a gun shop.  He is very helpful and great with customers.  The other two workers (including the owner) are very nice, but warm up greatly when you just talk to them for 5 minutes.

And then the gunshop down the street in French Creek Outfitters is understaffed by ********s.  I could stop in every other day, and they would seem like they are pained to talk to me.

I have had some negative experiences with gunshops too, mostly acting like they could barely stand to talk to a customer.   Not sure why this is, unless they deal with so many yahoos they just lose patience with everybody.
