Fraudulant participants in Disabled Olympics?
« on: February 19, 2001, 03:46:00 PM »
I heard a news bulletin on this yesterday, but it was in passing and I couldn't get the full story.  I did a search on the web and could not come up with any info.

I seem to recall hearing that 12 medalists in the Disabled Olympics had to return their medals when it was discovered that they weren't really disabled.

Has anyone heard anything else on this?  Might you be able to point me to the source of your information if you have?

Spanish paralympic mentally disabled basketball team went to Sydney with only 2 true mentally disabled guys. They won the gold.

Its so full of toejam...the spanish paralympic committee has done a good deal investigating this, and the presdient of the basketball federation for mentally disabled (an honorless son of a b... that tried to save his butt at all costs) had to present his dimission.

I have heard that more examples of this were found in other nations, but this for sure was a big fraud.

We should qualify as a mentally disabled team, and wear that gold with honour. How don't, We have a mentally ill & morally disabled subject responsible for the whole thing.

I'm so ashamed

How do they handle the "handicaped" parking spot?

Am I the only one who sees the idiocy of the ADA act?
