Interesting pic:

Does anybody have any information about it?  Vietnam maybe? Is the plane a Caribou? Some areas of the pic are obviously edited (BAD edited IMHO) but the plane looks real...

I've got that picture in another book (forgot which one), and yes it was Vietnam.  As the plane was taking off it was hit by an outgoing howitzer round from a nearby artillery battery.

Usualy when I see a pic like this, I look at the people in it.

Look at the men on the ground. Not one appears to be looking up at the plane. Most seem to be just going about other business.

In Vietnam, when something went BOOM! people either looked or ducked.

I say it's a fake. Looks like it was edited in by the smudged look around the mountain side to the right of the plane. Fake.
