Swimming with the not-so-dangerous fish
« on: September 04, 2006, 10:48:27 AM »
We spent Fri/Sat and part of Sunday catching rainbow trout on the Tilton river in Morton, WA about 1.5 hours south of here. We like the Tilton River and do at least 1 trip each year since the kids were born.  Its location makes it a favored short trip and it is stocked with rainbow so that the kids can enjoy fishing.  It isn't fishing, it's "catching".

It was almost 90 deg on Saturday and soon I became bored... I recalled that I had my Canon G6 which does video, and my Aquapac (good to 15 ft. depth) so I jumped in the river and went swimming with 12" rainbow trout.:)

The 30 second video begins with small fry near the shoreline. Soon I'm in 8 feet of water swimming with da fishes...( no swim fins or mask, thus the shakey camera underwater) It was sort of neat swimming with what would eventually be my dinner that evening. :D

Precious moments captured of the kids:

Thank you!

The video is done in video mode with a Canon G6 SLR-Type camera (lens on top of a lens)

The still pics are with a Nikon D70s w/70-300mm 4.-5.6g lens.

The fishies did not appear to relish their role on your short film Rip!  Looks like a blast though!
