Come to a FriKOTH event. We occasionally use Friendly Collisions and being the pudding head I am I occasionially forget to turn them off.

Needless to say the participants get a bigger laugh out of it than I do :)
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

I think v1st has insperation!

It would definitly add to the simulation aspect.

It would also be funny to watch the moans on country channel.

I don't pretend to know how the game works, but I was under the impression that collisions are an arena setting (meaning they're either on, or off), with no independent settings for individual players and their location, alt, and direction from a given field.

But, you say we're either stupid or blind, so you must be right.

dont forget option 3, dont bother to read properly. kinda ironic that you forgot to notice a comment about not reading things right.

first sentances of this thread.....

i know reading the first post of a sensible thread properly and slightly grasping what is being said is against BBs rules, and anything that isnt a troll or the makings of one should be ignored and wildly stabbed at, but please try to keep up is all im saying.

another simple option that i suggested once before would be to turn friendly collisions on only above 100ft above ground level.

would be possibly exploited in low furballs, but as it is no collisions is exploited at all altitudes and often without a clue that two friendlies just 'killed' each other.

now that we've run half a mile to get back to the start.....

howsabout someone answers my question.

Settle down bat, I'm not a BK anymore, remember?

I'll agree that 2 guys flying through each other is a bit lame, but at least they can't fire through each other. It's certainly not perfect, but it cuts down on griefing and unintentional collisions through lag and poor judgement. However, until such time as I see it happen, I'll refrain from saying whether it's fair or not.

But anyway, is what you have declared the solution even possible within the current collision model? If so, great, why hasn't HT ever bothered to set it up? Why not the CMs?

That's very clever, bat. However, to address your original post, the solution you pointed out (the same one you said we were either unable or unwilling to acknowledge and support) isn't possible unless HT rewrites that coad too, is it?

Do you think maybe that's why we ignored it, you stupid git?

Either the 100 feet AGL or the 1 mile from runway would be nice, but neither is possible as the options are currently structured.  You have only one choice, and that is whether to turn friendly collisions on or off.  If turned on, friendly collisions will occur at all altitudes and distances.

you are returning to base in your 262, very low on fuel and incoming enemy planes coming in judging by the size of the dar that just appeared in your sector. You need to get your plane landed and quick so you can up a fresh/fueled plane. You have just burned off your E and are approaching the runway when you see the guy who landed just in front of you stop in the middle of the runway. your hoping he gets out of the way in time cause you don't have enough fuel to make another pass. you now set it down on the runway and that IDIOT is still sitting there!! Boom you just collided with him and lost your perks cause friendly collision was turned on!

I don't think turning Friendly collision on would be a good idea.
