Bomber - missing death
« on: September 14, 2006, 05:47:36 AM »
I was flying ju 88s in the early war arena and got attacked by a p38. Untill i shot  him down he managed to kill 2 of my bombers, both times the lead bomber (not the drones / drone).
Strange thing was i didnt get a death message for that, as it used to be. Upon my inquiry also he did not get a kill message for the kills, while my bombers clearly exploded due to his gunfire.

He came back with a new plane and shot down my last bomber, he got the kill and i got the death.

So if the bomber killing hasnt been changed (as in now only a kill for the last bomber killed in a formation) this seems to be a bug

I think they are tired of easy bomber formations yeilding 3 kills, so its whoever kills the WHOLE formation. Just a guess though, the same happened to me.

Nope. I killed 2 lancs and wounded a third last night. I got 2 separate kills and an assist. I think schutt's got a bug.

I was gunning for beefcake in ju88s last night as well. I was in the last plane of the formation when all of a sudden it pushes me into the cockpit view (I was the attached gunner! Beefcake was flying!) and after a pause I was in the tower. No death message no nothing. It just said "You have successfully landed." in the buffer, but I know we got shot down, I saw it!

As far as I know, you ALWAYS land succesfully in a gunner position.

Yea a gunner position has always resulted in a you have landed message, but the kill message (or lack there of) you describe has not occured yet to me, but I primarily fly B-24's. Got and landed multi kills along with the message at or near the appropriate times, and "they" seem to be getting kill messages for my drones and main plane, due to the HB555 I been getting.
Wondering now if it is just schutt, or maybe plane specific?

I was shooting 3  bombers (lancs) when they disappeared (4-5 days ago).
After 2 days the same thing : 3 bombers were vanishing when i was shooting them (i have the record).
It's embarrassing.Should i quit hunting bombers?
I hadn't lag in both cases because after the bombers activated their "cloacking device" , i landed and took off normaly.

Wierd... Couldnt have been me, I dont fly Lancasters, though occasionally my game freezes, so if you find youself behind a Knight 17 who does that, it could be me.

Here's the link :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3Ig-4E7n10

I think i know what happens:
if the guy is not fair enough and he thinks he'll be shot down then he will disconnect himself because he knows he will be shot just one single time (or 1.5 times considering the disco) but not 3 times.

In both cases i landed 1 kill instead of 3.

These guys know the bug and they use it.
At the beginning , when i started to play AH , a guy told me that a fight it's like a dance. I'm still running out from battles when i'm outnumbered (i didn't learn such complicate dances) , but i never ran out from 1 vs 1.

Watched the film, to me, it looks like somethings wrong with the hit model. When you were hitting the left drone, I saw hits on the drone and the middle buff at the same time. The hits were at the same point on both buffs.

Yeah falcon. ever since the new setup, whichever drone you shoot, its the middle that takes hits. I have discovered that from the bombers perspective, in 88s watching my left dron's wing get covered in lead, and my own middle seemed to be taking the damage.
