Truly a cool dude, and did a LOT for conservation.
While his passion for wildlife was admirable.
It also doomed him much like the guy who thought he could live with kodiak bears. Sooner or later the law of averages is going to catch up with you.

Yes he's gone, but while he was here he lived hard. He burned the candle at both ends (and maybe in the middle too).  I feel for his family, this has to be hard on them.

At least he can say he left his mark on the world, and a high mark it is.

Yep what a Man.

At least he went doing what he loved.  It is a shame he couldn't have lived longer to pass more of it on.

Steve Irwin!

I wonder what was going through his mind at the last second when he realized what had happend..

"Croikies, I've been skewered by this phucking sting ray.  I didn't see that one comming mate."

Does anyone remember the episode that he did about Sea turtles and couldn't help a 2" long hatchling because of laws in that country that prevented him from doing so? That episode right there showed you the true Steve Irwin he was in tears and it was tearing him up because he couldn't help it.  Also, the one where they lost a Croc from his facilities in Australia. He cried like he had just lost his mother.
