A random FT thought

The four biggest complaints about the goings on in Fighter Town are:

1. Capturing the bases

2. Vulchers

3. Porking

4. PT dweebs

Point #1 has apparently been addressed by disabling troop-carrying vehicles at the bases. That just leaves 2-4.

The porking and PTs are pretty easily done. If HTC and crew wanted to, they could easily disable PTs at the bases. And there you have it, no more boats spawing underneath you and filling you with holes before you can react.

Ords can be similarly easily dealt with by disabling BUFFs, or just making Ords unavailable.

That leaves the final point, and now that the captures have been addressed the #1 complaint. Just what do you do with the skilless dweebs who have to vulch in Fighter Town?

Encouraging them to go vulch on base capture is pretty useless, because once the base is captured they now have to take on pilots who are actually fighting BACK. God forbid they learn to fly. Plus, they have to contend with the rest of the capture effort (main reason I don't often vulch and look for more active fights is I never get a SHOT at the rollers before someone lobs a rocket or bomb of better use on the town at him).

So here's my idea:

The moment a player gets within a certain distance of an enemy's base in FT, say maybe within d6k of the very center of the field, killshooter turns on for that plane. So when he goes to vulch, he just shoots HIMSELF down. Problem solved!
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Iīm against it.

It was certainly a good thing to disable troops at FT, but it is easy to overregulate. While I donīt like to be vulched, itīs my own responsibility to keep my eyes open, SA begins before takeoff. I think we should not try to convert FT into a kind of alternate Dueling Arena. Would the next step be some arbitrary mechanism to prevent "cherrypicking"?

Hey!

I like upping a buff in FT, ditching the bombs and running a rodeo.  Fastest SA and gunnery practice you can get anywhere.
Easy in-game again.

now as much a good idea it is to disable troops in FT is, i would still put a goon on auto pilot for an hour an try to sneak it in. It would be a great challenge. as capturing FT bases is currently to achievable and have done it twice. SHAZZZAAAM!
