I've received a report from my fellow squad member about it.
Currently I'm waiting for him to contact me again to test it out myself. It doesn't seem like a "big" cheat, but it does seem to be problematic to allow it in the arena, from what I've heard so far.
No information on it has been disclosed to anyone else besides my squaddie and me, yet.
