My sincere sympathies to the families of the soldiers involved, and my thanks to the Canadian people for continuing to support efforts to fight against the Jihad in Afghanistan.
Unfortunately, good deeds in Afghanistan seldom go unpunished. Build a clinic, the Jihadis kill the doctors, build a school, the Jihadis kill the teachers, attempt to hand out food and medical aid to Afghan civilians...
Bicycle bomber kills Nato troops
11.49AM, Mon Sep 18 2006
Several Nato soldiers were killed when a suicide bomber on a bicycle attacked their patrol in southern Afghanistan.
The attack came a day after Nato declared the area free of Taliban insurgents.
Afghan police said a suicide bomber on a bicycle attacked Canadian troops while they were giving out aid.
About 25 civilians, most of them children, were injured in the attack.
Nato said the blast caused "multiple casualties" among the troops.
About 130 foreign troops have been killed in Afghanistan this year, most of them British, American and Canadians.
