Screen problem...

When I 1st start up AH(or other games for that matter) my screen goes black for about 3-4 seconds. Normally this will happen multiple times in quick succession and then settle down. Sometimes it's so bad owever that I have to quickly try to get to the log in button inbetween blackouts. This normally only happens when it 1st starts up such as the log in screen. Once in the game itself and flying, I'm rock steady. I'm thinking video card problem, but heard that it could also be due to memory. Any ideas/experiences with this?

It helps a lot when you list the system parts in your computer.

Video card, Make and driver version.
Mother Board, memory (make if known & amount)
CPU and so on.

Are you running other apps in the back ground?

Come on, give us something to work with. As a start i would start swapping out Video card drivers..

Are you running a different resolution ingame than you are at desktop? If you are it will do what you describe .
