Death Of PC Gaming
« Reply #15 on: September 19, 2006, 04:33:08 AM »
Is PC gaming dead? mmm.

No i think that modern consoles are just slowly actually evolving into Standardised PC's.

Maybe this is microsofts cunning plan to finally be rid of Machintosh, introduce low cost PC's to the future users, burning the brand 'Microsoft' into thier poor little innocent brains.

then in a few years add mouse, keyboards and "ta da" every home will have a Microsoft Standardised PC in thier home.

So the question is not will pc gaming die, but will PC's become more standadised in the future as price lowers and power goes up? creating a standadised mass market for all gaming/simulation developers to aim at again?

And if it doesn't? well with the globe opening up and direct 2 drive purchase of games theres always gonna access to enough people in the world to make a niche game profitable.

As a last note...

Its gonna be the publishers that are resigned to history not PC gaming.
