Dual Core CPU's and AH2
« on: September 16, 2006, 01:58:52 PM »
Would like to know if the spinning clipboard crash is still persistent while trying to run both cores of an dual core Processor?
Planning on building a new PC utilizing an Intel Duo core2 Conroe.
1. Has anyone figured out if the Spinning Clipboard problem is AMD, Nvidia, or AH2, driver problem?
2. Is anyone currently running a system using any of the Conroe Chips?
3. Any opinions on a MOBO for the Conroe 6600?
4. Was reading several reviews that claimed the Conrore 6600 runs HOT. Any feedback here?
Thanks.

Check with Skuzy, as he just put a Conroe together.  Good luck, happy hunting. :noid

MugZ look in the hardware and software forum there is a sticky about AMD doule core. Also remember reading about a fix for the AMD. I don't think it is an issue on the Intel chip. There is also a thread about an Intel Conroe system, I believe it is Skuzzy's

I'm running the 6300 and I love it. Mine runs at about 40C under load. I think Skuzzy said his(6800) is at around 30C. I purchased the ASUS P5B mobo and am happy with it. It was my 1st build so I kept it simple. I made sure it was 775 mobo and said core 2 compatible.

Conroe dualies are fine.  AMD dualies are fine with the patch supplied from AMD.
