MINDANAO FIELD MAPS & TERRAIN MAP for latest Revision
« on: July 05, 2001, 01:08:00 AM »
The Field layouts have changed a bit for the MINDANAO terrain. I have completed the new revision for each of them as well as new main strat map!

These maps were completed 7/4/2001 at 11:00 PM CST today and thought I would share with the whole Aces High community      :)

First:
I created a 512x512 256 color map that will fit into the Aces High Map Viewer. If you would like to load it this is what to do:
  • Open up the (lfield.bmp or mfield.bmp or sfield.bmp) in the URL below
  • Right click on it and Save Picture As to your Aces High map file (this should probably be in C:/Program Files/HTC/Aces High/maps)
  • Now open up Aces High program and go online into the Main Arena
  • Pull up your arena map so it is visible
  • CLICK on the EDIT button in the top right corner
  • CLICK "New"
  • CLICK on the arrow that shows the File and "scroll" down to (lfield.bmp or mfield.bmp or sfield.bmp) and CLICK on it
  • Now CLICK in the Discription Box and type "Large Field" or "Medium Field" or "Small Field"
  • Now CLICK ......... OK
  • You should be able to go to the arrow at the top of the map and scroll down to "Large Field" or "Medium Field" or "Small Field"
  • CLICK on it! ------ HAVE FUN!

LARGE FIELDCLICK HERE FOR lfield.bmp

MEDIUM FIELD

SMALL FIELD

I also created a larger Black & White for for printing ......(don't try and put this into you map viewer-it's too big and the wrong format)If you want to put your squadrons logo on the top feel free to cut it and redo it. If you need help email me and I might do it for you       :)

Thunder,

What is the significance of the filled vs open circles on the map?

And, it is possible to identify them as cities, ammo, training, etc. as such on the map and to show by color which country HQ they belong to? This map is a bit confusing about where the original territory lines are drawn and it gets even more confusing as boundaries shift due to field captures.

The two open circles are Cities. The filled ones are Factories (AAA-Training-Refinery-Ammo-Radar). I am hoping to label soon. I have to hit or get information on every factory. I was trying to identify the location ASAP so all pilots would have the benifit of knowing were the factories were. The lines are just to let everyone know what was the original teritory at the start of the reset. Also to let you know what you have aquired or lost in reference to the start. If you can identify certain targets please post it and I will make sure I update it. Good thoughts..thanks!  :)
