Smaller 128x128 mile terrains needed
« on: September 23, 2006, 08:57:08 AM »
Hi gents and ladies,

After the arenas were split, the player numbers in each arena have dropped drastically. Even with the 256x256 mile "smaller" terrains, it is hard to find a fight and this results in milk running against unopposed fields.

Simply, the terrains are too large for the small amount of players. A solution would be to have smaller 128x128 mile terrains.

Below is a sketch, inspired by the first ever terrain we had in AH back in -98 or so.

The terrain is divided into the 3 countries by a ~10Kft tall mountain range.  The mountains are pierced by canyons. The canyons have a few vehicle bases (brown dots).  Blue dots are air fields. Red dots mark where the HQ and strat targets are. The purple lines show vehicle spawns. Green dots are towns.

In the middle there is a combined fighter / tank town, surrounded by ~50Kft mountains. It is therefore separated from the rest of the arena.

Thoughts, comments?

Good idea, except the maximum mountain height is 32,768(7?)ft.
Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
