I just want to know when I get to play with her.

Does the F4U have a stall slat on the starboard wing leading edge?

it wasn't a slat. It was a tab that interupted the airflow to make the right wing stall quicker, to help keep the plane stable at slow speeds.

Those are the trim tab linkages. The vertical piece is a horn attached to the trim tab and the straight line is the actuating rod.  It appears that the inboard tab is a normal trim tab because the linkage goes directly into the wing.  The outboard tab is probably either a servo or anti-servo tab which are typically used on unboosted flight controls (i.e., no hydraulic system to move the control).  If the designer wanted to decrease the amount of pressure the pilot needed to move the control surface he'd put in a servo tab.  Let's say you wanted the trailing edge of the aileron to move up, the servo tab would deflect down to assist the movement.  If the designer wanted the control force to be harder to move then he'd put in an anti-servo tab which moved in the same direction as the trailing edge making it resist the movement.  I don't know which the Corsair used but I'd assume they're servo tabs because of the size of the plane and control surfaces which would require quite a bit of stick force to move without assistance.

Thing is, beginning I THINK with the 1A, the F4U had either spring, hydraulic, or power-assisted control surfaces. Can't remember which it was.

Hey...if they're going to put trim tab actuaters on the wings they damn well should have a visible tail hook...and it should go up and down.  While they're at it, they should add the LSO on the carrier deck and add landing grades to the scoring system.  :D
