"From the director of Under Siege, and the director that was fired from The Running Man!"  Wooohooo, can't wait!!

Plot Outline: In an effort to find his place in life, a troubled young man enlists in the Coast Guard, where he's taken in by a renown rescue swimmer who's hardened by the loss of his team from an accident years back.

Sure fire winnah!

That's because it's spelled "Deadliest". ;)

I spent 2 years doing ALPAT's on a HEC. I spent more time walking on bulkheads than deck. MEC's are cute and secksy, but the 378's are the big dawgs.

Believe me, the Bering is NOTHING like the Gulf Coast. I'd trade Gitmo for Adak any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I can't wait to see what a paradise full of beautiful babes they make of Kodiak.:lol

'Troubled youn man enlists in the Coast Guard'. Is the Coast Guard in the business of giving 'troubled young men' potentially the most dangerous and difficult jobs in the service.

I doubt it, but it's only a movie and least there are helos in it.

I wonder will Hollywood ever get back to making movies about............well anything really with a bit of depth. Instead of the lowest common denominator, ie the fifteen year old (actual and mental age) who loves action, action, action and no plot.

Heres some more of the story line.

"Jake Fisher (played by Ashton Kutcher), and Ben Randall (played by Kevin Costner) are two Coast Guard aviators.  When one of their squadron mates panics and resigns after an encounter with a Russian fishing trawler, Fiser and Randall heroically lead him back to base.  Their squadron CO, debating whether to court-martial them or award them a medal, has to make a tough decision.  Fisher and Randall have just been moved to the number 1 slot in the squadron.  They get the opportunity of a lifetime- they get to go Top Fin, the coast guards premier weapons school.

At Top Fin, Fisher and Randall are nearly expelled for buzzing the tower in their high performance helicopter.  However, Fisher and Randall straighten up and begin to show their true colors.  Soon they are competing with Iceberg-Man for the number one slot, and the prestigious Top Fin trophy.  Tragedy strikes though, when Fisher's helicopter gets caught in the rotor wash of Iceberg-Man's helicopter.  Stuck in a deadly flat spin after their tail-rotor bangs out, Fisher is pinned to his seat by G-forces.  Randall however, is able to force open the cockpit door jump out.  However, he hits his head on the door handle and dies instantly.  Fisher jumps to safety.

Devistated by the loss of Randall, Fisher nearly resigns but is spurred into action after Russian fishing trawlers begin entering U.S. waters.  "

I won't ruin the ending for you guys, but let me tell you, with a story line this original, *anything* could happen.

Well I just got back from seeing The Guardian and I'm happy to say it DID'NT suck. Yeah there were some slow parts mainly dealing with the love stories, but overall it was a good flick. As far as accuracy, it was good. Not perfect, but good. I was'nt pleased with the ending, but I can reccomend seeing the movie.
