Configuring controllers
« on: October 07, 2006, 04:17:57 PM »
Question regarding controller configuration. When in the options screen under the "Map Controller" section I'm having problems getting my X, Y and Z axis mapped to the proper devices. I can highlight axis Y as an example and select my CH Flightstick Pro and it maps fins. Axis x and Y work properly. However when I then go and highlight Axis Z and select my Rudder Pedals (they're listed as "USB Adapter" as they're an older analog set run through a USB adapter) I can configure them to the Z axis and they work fine. The only problem is that the X & Y are no longer mapped to the flightstick. It appears I can have one or the other, but not both.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here?

Did you try to select the rudders seperately in Select Controllers before you tried to map them? I'm just guessing but you may have to set them up as two different controllers.

Nice to see you btw

Vortex, youre just looking at it the wrong way up :). You need to select the *controller* first, then the axis and then the input.

Select the controller (like your CH stick) i upper right dropdown box. Then map the X and Y axis to roll and pitch. For that, click on the axis and MODIFY (or double click), then select analog input and OK.

To map the rudder to the pedals, youll need to change controller selection in upper right corner. Choose pedals there. Then highlight the Z-Axis (of the pedals!) to Yaw (Rudder). CH pedals also have a X and Y axis (different then X and Y on your stick!!!) - those are the toe brakes. You can map those to "brake left/right" under analog input.

If you have trouble, shoot me a mail or PM and/or hunt me down in the TA... ill talk you through.

That did the trick Schatzi. Thanks! Funny how a slight change of perspective makes all the difference :).
