Country #'s on Login screen
« on: October 09, 2006, 11:12:22 AM »
Was thinking it would be nice to see the amount of each country logged in to each arena instead of the total # when you get to the arena screen on login.

This would accomplish two goals IMO.

#1 You wouldnt have to log in to each arena to see what it looks like prior to deciding which arena you wanted to play in. This takes up time and is annoying.

#2 It would help equal the arenas out WITHOUT people having to switch countries back and forth etc...

For example,I find myself loggin in to an arena and back out because I dont switch sides. If I knew at the arena screen that there was a 1 to 10 ratio of good vs bad guy, I might be inclined to go in there as a good guy to farm some perks or because I dont like  being on the side with the numbers.

Making that information availble during my login saves me time, and helps to equalize the arenas in the process.

Sounds like a win/win.

Just an idea, with  what I would believe would be a good outcome, and take up little programming resources to COAD

Interesting idea, Balsy, however it assumes that everyone WANTS the numbers to be even.  Hundreds of posts in this very forum would seem to indicate otherwise.

I'm still all about having a buddylist after login, perhaps next to the arena list.  Since it would be a query-based list, and I'm assuming it would have a limit of adds, it wouldn't introduce the type of data dump a roster list would.

Good idea.

When one clicks an arena, it should show you the current country numbers and prompt you to choose a side. Somehow, I think this would actually make it easier for people to change/switch sides, instead of logging on, saying howdy to all your friends, and then having to part with them again.

Perhaps an incentive system might also help. The dynamic perk system works as it is now, but when certain numbers advantage have been gained by a country, the country with smallest numbers would get a mega-perk boost, something like five times the normal amount, whereas the country with the largest numbers would get five times less.

 My two cents.

Heres another:

How about the server monitors the numbers, and at preset ratios (like 5:3 or 7:5) etc) gives out a server message (bit like a kill message that everyone can read) that so&so country outnumbers so&so by thatmuch:that much. This will take upto 3 messages for comparing two by two.
eg:
Bishops outnumber Knights by 7:5
Bishops outnumber Rooks by 5:3
Rooks outnumber Knights by 3:1

You get the Idea.

Great Idea Balsy

I always try to be on the lowest number side.  It's the easiest way to find a fight and gain high perks.  Would be nice to see instead of jumping between arenas.

I agree Balsy.

Also would like to see an option on the clipboard roster section.  That details how many  #'s are in each arena.

I've been flying mainly in EW or MW.  Sometimes there are not enough players here so i do a little jaunt in LW.  Rather than logging out and checking the #'s would be handy to just open the roster and check while flying.

Soon as theres more than 20 guys in EW or MW it can get fun.  Rather than wasting away in the old MA oblivious to what is going on elsewhere.
