Found this websight with top 5 rated flight sims (prop) ne'r a mention of AH. thought there might be as Hitech hinted/said that AH was flight model for flyboys, so I figured AH would get some props... it got none

I think HT was talking about the Warbirds flight engine which he also made. That’s the engine that FlyBoys uses. Also, that IGN article is a joke. I’ve played every one of those games and the writer left out some games that put half of the ones on the list to shame. Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, Aces of The Pacific, Aces Over Europe, and Janes WWII Fighters. Maybe they are counting Red Baron as part of the Aces franchise so they don’t include them...but let us not forget who single handedly revived the flight sim Genre...Lucas Arts. They made Sims FUN (BattleHawks 1942, Battle of Britain, and I mentioned SWOTL) and there’s NO mention anywhere. I assume the article left out Warbirds, AirWarrior , and Aces High because they are all massive multiplayer.

The orignal RB will always be one of if not my favorite sim.  If I could find the parts and OS, I'd build a dos box just for it. The TSN version was great for a while as well.  RB2, 3D or whatever they ended up finally calling it, was a far cry from being as good as the original.

The Aces series were last sold as a repackaged set with Pacific, Europe, and RB in the box.

The fact that Target Rabaul made it and Aceshigh didn't disqualifies the writer from ever being considered informed or taken seriously...

Seems like a personnel grudge type of shot though...

Its funny...One minute im pissed at Aces High for editing my posts, and lowering the arena cap...then you read something like this and say why the heck isnt the best game out there on the list!  Goes to show aces high is like crack!

Has anyone played Target: Rabaul?  It looks interesting

yes, before kak3 gets a new account and is renamed kak4, perhaps not.......we will be instructed as to what sim is now better than AH so that all teh poor child'n unhappy with the new arena set ups can all congregate in the same new fascinating and teh awsome place and relive the glorious days of old.

It's flight model, is nothing compared to AHII, but having the ability to create your own aircraft using gmax gave it a lot of replay value which has not been matched by anyone to date, so I would say it deserves to be on the list.

I loved CFS2. To me it still had the best feel as far as when you shot your guns and where the bullets went. Plus it was pretty.

Nope not even a close top 5.  Target: Rabaul is a good one but not good enough.
