Hi everyone, spent a lot of time reading the forum, interesting & fun, also
netaces.org, Soda's site, & DocGonzo plus various AH Squadron info, re ACM, BFM & dogfighting.

My desire is to learn to fly a P-38L, although a Spit would be easier to learn.
I've read books on Bong, McGuire & other P-38 aces.   Ran across Delirium's
offer to train folks to fly the P-38, & I do believe that I'll avail myself of his services in the near future, once I learn how to handle a plane.

The Training Staff is commendable in everything they teach & the community seems friendly enough to help newcomers &/or shoot them down.

I've never flown any flight sims before, this is my very 1st, & I'm having pro-
blems flying offline with a mouse... shall have to research joysticks & am re-
learning patience, think I'll take up Yoga too .. :)

Dropping in to say "Hello to Everyone" & when I'll be ready to fly I'll have to train in the Training Area 1st, then join a good P-38 Squadron to teach
me maneuvers.  Thx everybody.

Welcome to Aces High.

I suggest getting a stick.  It made it alot easier for me.

As for the P-38.  Its a great plane to fly but it seems to have a disadvantage against some planes in the online Main Arena.  The odds can be over come with some practice.  So don't get discouraged if u die a bunch in the 38.  I did too.  If you are haveing trouble with the 38 and are frustrated with it mabye try a SpitXVI, LA7, NIKI, or P-51

The first rule is always have fun. :D

If you like the 38 fly it!
As a newb you'll die a lot anyway, so you might as well die in your favorite plane. As stated above, in the late war areana, 38s have harder time. In Mid war areana, they are VERY good and competative.

After you get the basics of flying and manuvering, you might want to try flying every plane a little. Apart from fun in diversity, you need to know your opponents, so you'll get to do both at once.

Hello Hellfire!

Yes, Joystick is recomendable, if not mandatory if you want to play more then a few days. Dicho gave good advice there... no need to get all fancy immediatly, a  Saitek Evo or Thrustmaster Afterburner II will do the job. Just make sure you have a hatswitch for views, a throttle lever, rudder control (twisty or rocker) and as many buttons as you can get. Stay away from Logitech sticks, they wont make you happy for long.....

When you decide to come online, the training staff will welcome you in the Training Arena. If you want to set up times, email to trainers@hitechcreations.com with your ingame name and times youre available.

Welcome to your new addiction :).

Try the Saitek refurbished store:
http://saitekusa.stores.yahoo.net/recprod.html

I ordered a Cyborg Rumble Force, $19.99, to replace my old one.. the hat wore out. It arrived in 2 business days, was cheap, simple to order and works like a charm.

The $129 X52 set up is only $69 there.

Not sure when you fly, but Del is a good one to learn from.  Lots of good 38 sticks around too.  80th Headhunters (My bunch), Twinboom's 475th or Murdr's 479th are all 38 base squads and good folks to tag along with.  Feel free to give me a holler if you see me up.  I only fly the 38G, but guys in my squad like Raptor or Shuffler are very good in the 38L.  Del, Soulyss and others are great in the J model.

AKAK from the 479th flies the J as well, and I believe Murdr and Fubble aka Pellik are also 38J drivers.

I've heard there are people that fly this game just using a mouse, and have heard some are quite good. It was impossible for me. I tried everything, even using other fliers settings, and it was just impossible to do anything.

Buy a joystick.

Lots of things to do & learn, thankfully, 1 of the sites I found containing P38 films was Murdr's 479th site ..... amazing the things u people can do with the p38 whilst I flounder arnd like a fish out of water  :(

Would appreciate other p38 sites & pilots sending me ur films, training & otherwise to help me learn this plane.

I obtained a Thrustmaster Afterburner II, & attempting to fly offline w/o
crashing lolol  patience certainly is a virtue which MUST be learned!

I learn best by seeing, hearing, verbalizing & doing, same as at the university, but AH2 seems, at present, a more difficult course  :)   Thx for
all ur help, pls don't stop ur words of advice, help & encouragement.
