Anyone seen these trailers?

This is pretty much the last frank miller graphic novel that I'm waiting for. For a few reasons, 300 is bar none one of the greatest graphic novels ever made. As well, out of all of frank millers work, this is the most action packed. If you have the chance to pick up the book, I'd highly recommend it, but then...you'd spoil the movie a bit. And since it looks amazing, i'd almost tell you to hold out!

I love the story of the 300 Spartans and have wished for a modern movie about Thermopylae for quite a while.

This is obviously not supposed to be a historical drama, but how closely is it supposed to stick to the facts?  It's obviously heavily stylized and has a "Sin City" (the movie) vibe to it... but is there any attempt at realism in either the graphic novel or movie form?

Sin City was alright, but I hope the author is all these two movies share.

It looks visceral, exciting and about as historically accurate as "The Little Mermaid" but I guess the true legacy of Thermopylae isn't historical, it's emotional:

Then up spoke brave Horatius
The captain of the gate,
"To every man upon this Earth
Death cometh soon or late.

Then how can men die better
Than by facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of their fathers
And the temples of their Gods."
