The next CVN should be named USS Tora Bora or USS Umm Quasar.. or USS Baghdad or maybe even the USS Basra.

How about the USS FDNY?

If its merit based, homicide detectives, firemen, ER doctors and cops should have ships named after them, as well as warrior enlisted noncoms, those awarded the CMH... real heroes of America. Afterall, we paid for the fing thing.

These people do more good things for the country everyday than the Bushi family or his hack Dem cronies could ever hope to accomplish in their lives. But just like Hasterts $3 million reward for being a crooked clone goes to show, these perverted drunks take care of eachother.

Bah, the US should hire the guy that picks the name for RN ships.  Now there are some badass names.  HMS You-Are-So-****ing-Dead-And-Don't-Even-Know-It-Yet-LOLS etc.

Even better would be to defer taxpayer costs buy getting corporate sponsorship.  USS Abosulte Vodka, and the ships moto can be the brands catch phrase.

Carter is a Navy vet. I think he served on DD's but it is possible he was a submariner. I don't care for his politics, but he did serve the country in uniform and as president.

The folks you mention have nothing to do with the military even if they've provided extraordinary service.  Plenty of ships have been named after enlisted men, particularly those that have been awarded the Medal of Honor.  BTW, I've never been quite sure who first attempted to call it the "Congressional" Medal of Honor but the proper name is just Medal of Honor.  Some punk congressional staffer probably got credit for trying to put the Congressional in front of it.  Sort of a way for Congress to get their picture taken next to real heros.

He was a submariner of little to no distinction and resigned after only seven years at the rank of Lieutenant.  That should not qualify him.  The fact he was a president of little to no distinction also should not have qualified him.  Don't think I've ever seen a USS Richard M. Nixon.  He was both a president and served was a Lieutenant Commander in WWII.  If Nixon wouldn't get a ship because he was a crook, don't think Carter should get one for being a dolt.
