There is a neat little benchmark demo you can run to find out if your tweaking and OC'ing is paying off. when you are in the game, hit ctrl+alt+~ and type timedemo demo1.demo and the game will run a film as fast as it can and give you the avg fps. make sure you do it at the same place in the game so you dont have one of those cut scenes gobbling up your RAM before you start.
