Saitek X36u Joystick Combo question
« on: January 31, 2000, 10:45:00 AM »
I own a Saitek X36u Combo Joystick/Throttle.  It has a total of 28 available buttons.  AH only seems to support up to 16 buttons.  Will there ever be an option to support as many buttons as a joystick makes available?

Thank you very much!

Terror, you can use all those extra buttons on your stick now, you just have to use the SGE game configuration software that came on your Saitek CD to program them, not the joystick mapping in Aces High.  A manual that will teach you to use the software is on the CD as well.  Its pretty easy, but if you would rather not bother with it, drop a note here and I will send you my Aces High configuration for the X36f combo that you can install and use on your computer.

I don't know.  We're supposed to be getting some Saitek sticks and then we'll take a look at what we can do.

This is the Saitek X36u Combo.  It uses the USB interface to attach to the computer.  I would rather not go through a detailed programming of the stick.  It would be nice just to assign buttons through the game and not have to worry about specific key sequence programming through the SGE interface.  It works great now for the first 16 buttons, but when a button is higher that 16, it confuses the game and cannot be assigned correctly.

Thanx!

Pyro,
I use a Saitek Cyborg 3D No Problems so far apart from the Throttle Spikes, and keeps kicking WEP out. It's the normal Gameport one not USB. Apart from that it works well. Plus It's Left Handed if Required.

Snafu,

If it keeps kicking out of WEP, try increasing the throttle deadband.  If that doesn't help, recalibrate but don't move your throttle all the way to the stops.

Lance, I just replaced my MSSWFFP for the saitek X36 and am having problems with blue screen windows crashes when i use SGE V1.3.
I have isolated down to the programming and not the stick. I can program in stick map aces high but want to utilize a full HOTAS config. If you have a profile please email it to me.
