Hi All,
We recently ordered a bunch of copies of Don Stephen's inspiring book of short biographies form World War 2 entitled
War and Grace for our most recent conference. This is a book that I enjoyed immensely, and as I was reading it, I couldn't help but reflect that many of the members of the AH BB would be interested in it as well. So since we had had six copies left over after the conference, I went ahead and bought four of them to give away here.
Amongst others, the book details the lives of:
Louis Zamperini - B-24 Bombardier and POW
Jacob DeShazer - Doolittle Raider and POW
Mitsuo Fuchida - Chief Pilot in the raid on Pearl Harbor
William Dobie - Governor of Malta during the Malta Blitz
Rupert Lonsdale - Captain of HM Submarine Seal
Henry Gerecke - Chaplain at the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials
and several others...
What they all had in common, as the back of the book puts it, was that "during the turbulent events of those momentous years, God was at work in their lives. He brought these thirteen people to trust, know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, and therefore to give themselves to the service of others." And no, you don't have to be a Christian to enjoy the book.
Anyway, I'll happily mail them out to the first four people to answer this question correctly:
"Which ship was nicknamed by her crew "HMS Pepper Pot" due to the number of bomb hits she suffered while in Dry Dock?"- SEAGOON
