One of the things I hate about the arrival of the CD...the art of the album cover (and, for the record, hahah get it?, the art of the album as a package) is long dead.  When was the last time you saw a CD cover that was pure art?

some of the packaging ventures very clealy into that territory but it requires a different perspective of the viewer than a 12 inch vinyl cover does.

i have seen some very nice ones, but they are more than just an illustration.

it exists mostly in another form.
