Aleutian terrain in the AvA
« on: October 13, 2006, 10:03:13 AM »
Terrain team has been busy making new terrains for us. 68falcon's first try is now up in the Axis vs Allies arena. See the AvA-forum for more info & discussion.
Oh and it's A6M2 vs P40's at this point. I might add some planes as the week (and war in the Aleutians) progresses.

If we are going to have the Aleutions, than make sure that the weather is very bad, and that planes can be destroyed by the weather.  Having been to Unalaska, Cold Bay, Attu, Shemyia, Adak, and King Cove, I can tell you the weather is far more dangerous than any enemy pilot.

The eager pilots are not experienced. And the experienced not eager.

Downloaded it and took a flight in a 38G.  I went looking for Massacre Bay as there is a P38G from the 54th FS ditched there :)

It's some beautiful work.  Reminded me of the photo below of 2 54th P38s patrolling in the Aleutians

Agreed. I lived in AK. for 14 years. The weather redefines the four seasons:

-Early Winter
-Mid-winter
-Late Winter
-Next Winter
