Is it possible to replace the standard "beep" sound with something else ? i was thinking about using RogerWilco's "mikeout" sound, but couldn't find the mike beep in AH directory...

Not sur that you can replace the mic. click (beep) sounds...
But you can turn them all the way off in voice sttings.

I would like to know the name of the file it uses (index holder)... it's not on the individual volume selections.

I replaced the beep with a different sound. You just name the sound files you want to use "click0" and "click1" (you might just need "click0", but I have both of them and it works, so I haven't messed with it) and put them in the main sounds folder.
