Something along the lines of the training missions in America's Army would be an enormous help, if for no other reason than to stop the "How do I fly?" questions that occur all too often.  If you have never played AA, there are a few training missions you have to complete before you can do anything on line.  Sure, they are intrusive and annoying, but they set the bar for "You must be this smart to ride."  Anyone that can't figure out the training missions will likely be a drain on the support staff and cost far more than $14.95/month.  Someone that has plenty of experience with flight sims will sail through a tutorial and likely appreciate the extra familiarity with the AH2 command set.

I agree with Auger.  Having a mandatory traing tutorial before going to the MA would be the best thing.  Having these newbs come to the MA before they know the game just sets them up for the vulch, cherry pick, getting there arse kicked etc.. hence they don't like the game and leave for good.  U might only retain 10% of all the newbs that try the game.  If they have to go through the training, u might keep 50-75% of the newbs.  Might also slow down all the shades accounts in AH to,lol.
