New to game/ small question
« on: October 29, 2006, 11:24:00 PM »
I just started playing Aces High 2 a couple days ago and am completely impressed with the realism of the game ( since I am a real-life pilot).

I searched around the forums to answer alot of questions I had, and have not found a answer to one of my questions (or maybe i did'nt look hard/long enough). If you are damaged in flight dog-fighting/ AA damage and able to make it to a friendly base, is it possible to repair?
I read about re-fueling and re-supplying at a yellow circle at the end of a runway, but from what i read nothing was said about repairng.
If you are able to repair at a base, is it the same place to re-supply/fuel?

Any answers/help would be appreciated, sorry if the question is a obvious one. I have not explored re-supplying/fueling yet, but will try it out next time I play.

ahh, thats what i have been doing whenever i get damged to the point it is impossible to attack an enemy. Just thought it works the same way as re-supplying/fueling.

Thanks

The resupply functionality is mostly used in Scenarios and/or Snapshot Events.

There you can refuel at any friendly base but you can only repair at your squads home base.

It adds alot of realism and an extra tactical element to the game play of the special events.

But as for the MA game play the refuel pad is only good for keeping your sorty running so that the "XXX has landed YYY kills in a plane of squad bla" gets pimped. Imho meaningless.

Can also be good if fighter hangers are down and you need to land but then the field is usually so heavily vulched that you cant refuel anyways.

To clarify, this repair isn't a wait and fix the same plane thing, as it sounds. In scenarios there is a one life/plane rule most of the time.
The repair mentioned here is actually being allowed to tower out and get a fresh plane within the onelife/plane rule.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

reapir would be an excelent addition to the game, but has been talked about and widely dismissed if i remember right.

refueling for MA use is not always pointless tex, sometimes i like to refuel and fly the same plane all night, or untill i die.  its not so much to get 'batfink landed XX' as much as i find it fun to keep the same ride going.

maybe sometimes i get lucky and make it to 8 or 9 kills over a few reloads, i find it builds a sense 'this is my lucky plane oh yeah baby' for that time online. often while playing like this i will screw up or get beaten fair n square and just log off. not cos im angry or upset because i had 'my plane' for the night and i wrecked it, after having great fun in it. For scenarios i usually die my first death and end my scenario there not going to the next frame. kinda like my own personal little campaign game within the game, can add alot more excitement to being shot at.

other times i die 30 times in an hour and keep going back for more untill i pass out from fatigue :D

I think fluid leaks, should be repairable, as long as the motor isn't damaged to continued use (seized).
