In a week or two, I'm going to be giving a problem speech to my Speech Communications Class. I had a great idea for it. I was going to give the speech about how Taxes are Theft, and how the american people never chose to pay taxes. I already have a great outline, a great introduction ready. I feel like I can rock this speech.
However, last tuesday we had to turn in a paragraph describing what we wanted to do our speech on. I turned it in, and got it back today. I went up to talk to my professor about some comments he left on my paper. He told me that the topic was fantasy and not reasonable. He then went on a tangent about money and how it doesn't really exist.
Now, I know him to be a socialist, but politics haven't really been a part of this classroom (except for another speech I gave, I can describe later if people are interested). But today I have realized that I have threatened his entire being with this simple "Taxes = Theft" speech. He has come out and blatantly told me that I would fail the class if I gave the speech with the topic I laid out. He said he might accept a topic on tax reform.
Should I rock his world? Or bend over and just take it for the grade?
