I would like to see options presented at a re-arming pad to allow the pilot to change the loadout for his aircraft.  Be able to change the fuel load out or re-arm with different ord.

I think the re-arm could be addjusted to only allow so many planes to re-arm at any one time.   no matter how many were parked on the pad, the re-arming crew can only do so many at a time.

Also if troops are not at 100% at the field, that re-arming takes longer, less troops to do the work or if the re-arm pad is damaged that re-arming takes longer and that aircraft that are damaged can have repairs performed, you may have to taxi into a hanger to get the repairs.

That aircraft availability be limited to the Airfield.  

Large Airfields have all plane sets available and can service any plane set quickly, smiply because the large airfield has more troops to support the work load.

Mid-size Airfield  Has a more limited number of Aircraft sets assigned to it
repairs and servicing , re-arming, take longer at Mid-size airfields then at large fields providing that the troops are available to do the work.

small airfields has the most limited number of aircraft sets available and re-arming and servicing of damaged aircraft take the longest because they have the smallest number of troops to do the work.

Any aircraft regardless of which airfield it launched from can be re-armed or serviced at any airfield, the only limiting factor being the speed of the re-arming or servicing based on the number of troops to do the work.

a change in the perk system to reward players that retain the same aircraft for multiple sorties or missions.

I like the idea. I had some experiance with this in real life with A-10s and F-111's. Doing quick turns on the hot pad the aircraft were fueled and armed according to mission requirements, not what they took off with originally.

As far as repairing damage......... That's a bit of a stretch. If a plane was viewed as un-safe for flight it would go straight to maintenance not be allowed to hot pit.

My Dad flew P47's and later P51's. He told me once that they used tape and could apply some type of additional sealer for fule leeks, that they had some type of metal patch that was like glued in place  But it was only damage from flak that was repaired.  

I only offered the repair option and perhaps that would need to take place in a hanger.  if the perk system was changed to reward pilots that fly multiple  flights with the same aircraft.

With the current damage models things like missing flight controls , oil leaks and such would be a hard fix for a hot pit crew. Maybe back in the day your father was punching holes in the sky they could quick patch a fuel leak.

 My flight line experiance was from the late 70's to the early 90's if it leaked it was grounded. Present fuel cell repair is an art form all to it'self. They'd never let us knuckle draggin crew chiefs patch it .:)

What Fighter Group did your Dad fly with? I hope he's still with us.

I understand that in the real world the type of damage you discribe would gound an aircraft.  My suggestion was tied to a change in the perk model to reward pilots that fly a single aircraft on many different sorties and re-arm rather then just upping a new aircraft.  

some types of damage could require taxing to the Hanger for a repair.  a simple reload on the pad would still take 30 seconds, however, repairs would talk longer, depending on the damage, maybe even requireing taxiing to a hanger for a repair.

My Dad passed away in 92 after a short illness.  He was with the 27th fighter wing and  later in 43 the 56th fighter group,  then Easteren Airlines until he retaired ( he claimed that Eastern was the worst duty)   He gave me my love for flying.  Taught me to fly in a 1946 J3 Cub when I was 12 and combat aerobatics after I got my Private  when I was 17 in a Pits.

We spent the last two years of his life flying that Cub to every airshow we could find in the US.
