Need a new FPS online
« on: October 26, 2006, 12:55:12 PM »
Looking to go to EB games later tonight. Any suggestions on a good FPS? I would prefer one with online capabilities.

Hows the Battlefield series? Battlefield 2142 or something along those lines looked cool.

Looking at Call of Duty 2 also. I really liked the first one and supposedly I heard they fixed online multiplayer so  the person with the mp44 dosnt always pwn.

I hated CoD2 multiplayer compared to CoD.  The maps sucked.  But I haven't touched it in 6 months so maybe it is better now.

I didnt either until I picked it up again and started playing some of the home made maps. The D-Day map was great.

BF2 is some of the most gaming fun you can have, I liked it much better than CoD. Tanks in BF2 leave AH's "GVs" in the dust, but the flying of choppers & planes blows.

If you're cheap, like me, check out http://www.americasarmy.com free to download, free to play, something like 500,000 players total with dozens of servers & unique challenging maps.

Also very fun, is Joint Ops 'Typhoon rising'

Getting online in Bf2? Last I played it had a game manager thingy built in. I never had any problems. -edit- Oh, I think you have to have an account. Yeah, almost positive because they track stats and give rankings-edit-

Last time I BF2'd I had to update some shizzle before going on-line, might have been punk buster or a patch.

I figured it out. Im sorta disappointed. I thought it would be more team based instead of free for all.

I use both the Warrock and America's Army games, both are free and different enough that I can play both without getting burnt too fast.  Both have their downsides too, but they are both pretty darn good for freebies.

You forgot to mention how haxxored America's Army is.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
