CH Products USB JS and Rudder
« on: July 12, 2000, 06:28:00 AM »
Gentlemen,

I'm considering buying a USB CH JS/Rudder setup but thought I remembered reading awhile ago that this did not work with Win98 and AH. Any help/comments would help. Right now I'm using a USB MS Precision Pro with "twist" rudder but would like to switch to pedals.

Thanks In Advance,

Ash

Ash: I have a CH F-16 combat stick (USB) with the heavy base and it works fine for AH. I recalibrate it in windows 98se once a month and recalibrate in AH at every start up.  Just make sure you have Directx 7.0a and it should work ok.

Most of us are currently waiting for the release of the new CH USB stick that will have all of the buttons and dials needed.

The current CH USB stick just doesn't cut it at all.

I would recommend getting the Saitek x36 combo for about $99 which is a very good USB throttle and stick in one box. I found this product to have more available buttons etc. than my old Thrustmaster TQS and F22 stick.

I use this in combination with the CH USB Rudder pedals and all work fine in Aces High.

Everyone,

Thanks for your help! I think I'm going to research this one a little more before I switch.

Actually, a few of us are waiting for the new CH USB drivers promised "soon" back near christmas. I currently cannot use my CH f16combatstick and my CH ProPeds USB at the same time. I'm going to purchase a "powered" USB hub to see if it helps at all. Currently, you supposedly can daisey chain a zillion USB devices, but power suckage requirments make that a ludicrious proposal.

Just a quick note to Lizards post, he DID in fact purchase a powered hub(4 port)and now his CH Pro Pedals as well as his CH F-16 Combat Stick (both USB) are working just fine. I put one on layaway myself just to have one around when the day comes that I too can upgrade to USB CH products. I'll be dropping in on him very soon to try out these new toys.
