Nighttime and monitor calibration
« on: November 01, 2006, 10:43:58 PM »
Someone posted the link Im going to include in this thread in the O'club.

Im not here to re-open the bring back the night debate. Just to make a point as well as possibly put up a link to possibly help a few of you out who have problems seeing as dusk/dawn in the game.

Many times when the arguement arises over having night time in the game it is complained that  you cant see at night. To which I have usually responded that if you cant see at night in AH then you probably have your monitor set up incorrectly.

Now the link I am including here is to help people set up their monitor to that things look as they should.

Prior to my using this site to calibrate my monitor. I had the saame settings as I use in AH. And I never had a problem seeing at night.

Well Turns out that even I had my monitor set up too dark.
And if mine was too dark and I was able to see
I suspect that many that have problems seeing at dusk/dawn or night time also have theirs set up too dark also.

Just as I've been saying all along

In a nutshell you are going to see a bar with a spectrum of blocks going from black to white in incriments.
Your going to adjust your contrast and brightness untill you can just barely see the differents from one block to the next. Particularly on the sides where it looks solid black and solid white.
when done correctly you should see a slight difference from one block to the next n either end as well as across the spectrum

Anyway. Heres the link And kiss your dusk/dawn/nighttime blues goodbye
