Just wanted to throw this out for SOLARMAX. I don't know if he/she attends these boards, so if some1 knows this person please mention this to them.

A bunch of us were mixing it up (i think the nme was Rook, me Knight) the other day just off the coast of one of our bases. the numbers were evenish and the nme was pressing the attack. i start tangling with an f4u. we merge at under 5k with him maybe having a slight E advantage. we twist and turn for a couple, and then get into a descending scissor (is that what its called when going from up to down?) and this guy is throwing flaps, popping gear, just eating me up. he's gaining the upper hand and i know it's only a matter of time (mostly seconds) b4 he gets solution and i go down in flames. luckily for me, he has to disengage to avoid one or 2 or 3 of my countrymen =) i got my @ saved and he went in the drink.

my point.... a big fat <> to you SOLARMAX. that was some of the best damned f4u flying i have ever seen. had my team not rescued me, you would have undoubtedly been the victor.

maybe you could teach me some of those tricks sometime?

Good of u to make this kind of post.  No I don't know the guy Solarmax my reason for my input is

1) What plane was you in (pixel or otherwise) ?

2) Perhaps one of the pixel packer, gas passing, piss takers could tell you how to counter a F4U with full flaps and gear down ?

i dont remember what i was flying. it was one of those "up, get shot down, up, shoot some down, die, up again" kinda fights. i might have been in a Spit8.

i always have a really hard time with a good f4u stick, if going into the fight all things being equal.  i get out scissored in whatever direction we are going be it up/down/horizontal what ever. typically i try and take the scissor vertical.
