You know, it seemed like I was always upping in a different plane each week, and sticking with the one I was getting kills in. One week, I'd be chopping everything up in a 190, next week I couldn't kill squat in it.
LA7 flies like a lazer gun when I fly it, but for some reason, it's one of the easier planes for me to kill.
I always had a blast upping an early war plane and kicking a newer planes butt with it. That takes skill and a bit of luck in some situations, but always fun.
I agree with not liking the "Horde Mentality" when it's 50 vs 8. But 50 vs 50, OH YEAH, that's a fight!
If you want a 1v1, or 5v5, check out the DA or the AvA. The MA setting in my opinion was around for a MASSIVE ONLINE MULTIPLAYER EXPERIENCE!
It seems like the few that want a clean dogfight, shouldn't be in a combined arms scenario like the MA's. It's not the place for it.
And for the record, if you're taking land for your "chess piece", then the best way to do it is to keep the enemy from taking off in the first place. And the best way to do that is to drop hangers, plain and simple.
Taking and defending bases is fun. If it's not supposed to be part of the game, let's just have 5 bases on each side that aren't untakable, and there will be a constant fight between the bases...
but that wouldn't stick to the spirit of things would it? High alt bombers hitting a target on the ground for a reason (to take a base or kill strats), ground pounders hitting GV's attacking a base, dogfights to keep enemy fighters off of bases and their own GV's...
There is a time and place for a 1v1, or a "clean" dogfight, the MA isn't it. The MA is a simulated WAR, and nothing is fair in war. There's always going to be the guy with more alt, more ammo, a faster plane, etc... etc... etc....
Hopefully things will return to my idea of sanity sometime in the near future so I can come back and enjoy the game I played for three years before things changed.
