Which versions?  The originals or the director's hack jobs?

I'd prefer to remember Star Wars the way I saw it in it's true glory; through the eyes of a 10 year old in 1977.

As for epi. I-III...who cares.

i-iii  agreed.

dunno.  just started watching.  not a huge fan of the later editions to the films either...lucas must have been smoking crack..its like selling a painting and then coming into the owners home years later and touching it up.

none the less.  i am still geeked.

Just finished watching "The Phantom Menace".

Oh, the irony of the title.

God that movie sucks even more now than it did when it came out.

George Lucprettythang is a frickin' genius.

I guess im alone in liking 1-3. They are not like 4-6, but when i first saw them I was a kid and you see things differently at that age. If I had seen all 6 in order when I was a kid I would prolly have liked them all the same way.

Sabre fights were cool in I, II, and III.  Otherwise I wasn't overly impressed.
I think it'd be cool to have a compiled version of the fights without the cuts to other scenes.

The most recent set of DVDs for IV, V and VI have both versions of the films.  Great to see Han shoot first again at the cantina.

Darth Maul (sp?) should have had a much BIGGER role.  Killing him off so early was a huge fark-up.  :o

Love the saber fights with Maul in Phantom Menace.

Empire Strikes Back is the best of the lot.  If you happen to have the newest re-release of it, listen thru with the Directors comments (Irvin Kirshner), pretty interesting to hear.

Uhhh...

Which one was better?

It's between Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith for me.

Episode III tied everything together from the earlier releases to the later releases.  All the details I missed when I was young seemed to hit you like a 2x4 when you saw Episode III.  I never read the books so that was at least my experience.
