Weird Pci Device Problems
« on: November 22, 2006, 11:17:32 AM »
It has been a weird month.  My rigs have all been so stable and now all  three have problems at once.  The old P2 600 lap is retired now that it died and  was replaced with the Conroe 6600 HP lap (great for watchin Movies on the plane).  The Hawaii Barton 2500+ rig quit for a week and fixed itself.  I found a dead Stick of RAM in my Guam AMD 2100 rig and got a new one on Crucial's lifetime warranty.  Now I can't get all the PCI devices to work at the same time on the 2100.  It is moving to the living room for my roomate to use, so switching to wireless.  I had the WiFi card and LAN card both working until I removed the NIC.  The Wifi failed to start so I moved it to the slot where the NIC was.  The WiFi worked but the Soundblaster wouldn't start.  I moved the Soundblater to another slot with no luck.  I put the Soundblaster and NIC back in their original slots and they worked again.  The WiFi fails to start when I add it back in.  Any ideas?  I already took a spare Antec 430 PSU out there but I don't have any days off in Guam for Dec.:)  It is an early Asus Nforce board and I do have a spare MSI Nforce board, but I hate to put that much effort into a spare rig. ;)
