True confessions...or.............
« on: November 13, 2006, 09:57:53 PM »
......is this when you know you have went over the edge?
Hello. I am Jackal1. This is my first meeting. That`s right, I confess. I watched a movie with Tom Cruise in it. That`s not the real shame though. The sad part is I liked it. Oh.......the shame.  :)
Don`t know how I missed this one. I don`t even rmember seeing it promoted. ( Could have been one of those me and old Jack #7 periods) :)
Anywho................the movie is Collateral. Jamie Foxx and that guy I mentioned before.
I may be the only one who hadn`t seen this movie when it came out. If you haven`t seen it and you like action and guns ablazing, crashing, blood, hitmen and general all around good entertainment and you find the local gang bangers have called a temporary truce........then this just might be the movie to get you through until someone pops a cap on someone else and things gets back to normal.
I stop at a local pawn shop every once in a while and pick up a few DVDs pretty cheap to add to a collection I started a year or so ago. I wanted to check out the vibes on a surround sound system I just put in and I wanted to check it by airtime movies and DVDs......so I stopped in and grabbed four movies real quick.
I was going to pop one in to see what it sounded like, grabbed one and .....Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....... ...Tom, Not Quite Ready To come Out Of The Closet, Cruise. I dropped the shades real quick, checked the security cameras to make sure know one was watching, locked the door and concentrated on Jamie Foxx being the star and slapped that sucker in.
Seriously the soundtrack alone is worth checking the movie out . Foxx does a great job as the cabby and To.............errrrr that other guy I mentioned is even bearable. With his silver/white hair in this flick you can almost forget who it is. I just call him George. :)
If you have a home theater sound system with surround sound and you haven`t checked it out...do so. It`s pretty impressive.
Just to be on the safe side and to prevent some future, accidental discovery and ridicule, I copied the DVD graphics sleeve, did a quick photoshop job on it and all is well. It now reeds Jamie Foxx and "George" Cruise as the leading role actors. :)

Are doughnuts and coffee usualy provided at these meetings or do I need to bring my own?

yep.. the problem is that all the really good action movies get ruined by guys like cruize and his ilk... now they have decrapio being a tough guy.

When you seen lancaster or wayne of heston or eastwood in the old days you could figure they were tough guys.

watch a movie like the wild bunch and try to think what it would be like with the wild bunch replaced by decrapio and cage and cruize and damon.

"The Wild Bunch"  Directed by Ben Stiller, Produced by Penny Marshall, Executive Producer Rob Reiner...Staring Tom Cruise as Pike Bishop, Matt Damon as Lyle Gorch, Leonardo Decaprio as Dutch Engstrom, Ben Afleck as Tector Gorch, and Carmon Diaz as Teresa.

Pike: "Come on guys let go rob a bank"
Lyle: " I dont know Pike, last bank we robbed some people got hurt and then there was all that blood.  ohh it was so icky"
Dutch:  "Yea Pike, I just broke a nail on my trigger finger, its hurts."
Tector: "here Dutch let me kiss and make it better."

Collateral sucked on so many levels...
