Neither could I, which is why I thought it was more or less 100 % bull****. That, considering the wings wouldn't break until 13Gs and even then - the test rig broke before the wing.

Mooneys are great rides.  I had a M20E for 10 years and it had no bad habits.  150 kts on 9 & change an hour.  Nice platform on the dials.  The only bad thing I would say about it is it could have used a tad more rudder in big crosswinds.  As you and Golfer noted almost every landing made ya look like a genius although it could float a little if you carried any extra airspeed into the flare. I loved that airplane.
