Base ball isn't played in this country although there are a couple of teams jotted about.  It is not normally played anywhere outside of USA bases.

In our schools for the under 11's we play "Rounders".  We use a 1 handed shorter bat.  Looks the same shape but about 18 inches to 2 foot long.  Some schools play "soft ball" but it's very rare.

Your game of base ball came from rounders.

rounders isnt really played at all in uk..... but its mainly a girls sport.
